Shields Up-date!


New Mechanic: Shields!  Shields is a Stat that is reduced when taking damage before HP.  Any excess damage then subtracts from your hp.  Shields are distinct from HP, so effects relative to hp such as Krog’s Brute ability will not count shields towards the damage it deals. Some effects may also affect or respond to shields as well, and poison specifically completely bypasses them.

General Changes

  • Many buffs will now show either their current stacks or remaining duration  in the secondary stats window for monsters now.
  • Tama now can appear normally in eggs and team select after acquiring them once
  • Shops now have a quick sell and sell all option, additionally items can be locked by right clicking them to prevent them from being sellable.
  • Shops now have 10 items instead of 8.
  • Shops and Forges can be reopened after closing them now
  • Resources can appear in shops rarely 
  • You can now go back to the Play/Village choice screen from the Difficulty select screen.
  • Right clicking monsters will keep their stats window open, and allows you to rename your own monsters by clicking the pencil button in the top right of the window.
  • The Choice of rewards after defeating a boss now allows you to go to the Aurite Crystals event instead of just giving 1 Aurite Shards item.

Infinite Mode

  • Now in Infinite Mode you will be able to miss up to 2 eggs/aurite and still have enough to make a full team of 6 tier 3 monsters.
  • New Greater Blessing : Item Safeguard.  Keep 1 random locked item when looping.
  • New Curse: Flawed. Reduce shields gained by allies by 25%/50%
  • New Curse: Guarded. The first enemy hit each battle gains shields equal to 50%/100% of its max hp.
  • Some Curses received an additional tier. 

Events

  • New Event: Ghostly Smith can randomly temper items or turn a random equipment into resources.
  • The Loose Dirt event now selects a random (unequipped & unlocked) item to stash.  The next time you encounter the event in a future loop you will instead be able to retrieve the item. No longer gives the Good Deed blessing.
  • The Strange Puzzle Event now provides an item to grant the stat changes, allowing you to choose who receives them.  Additionally after looping it grants a percentage stat change instead
  • The Weary Traveler event choice to offer food now requires 2, but grants the Good Deed blessing.
  • The Inscription Stone event now will not appear after looping
  • The Exchange event will not choose items that are locked, merged or event items.

Monsters

  • Krog’s Bellow is now On Cast instead of part of Challenging Croak
  • Mudgill’s Shred now also increases attack damage vs targets with shields by 20%
  • Theres more that utilize shields now that I forgot to write down oops

Items

  • Ethereal Torch: After changing position causes a monster to return to the original location after a short delay.
  • Kunai: After attacking gain shields based on Spd.
  • Alchemic Amulet: When getting debuffed, spend shields to reduce their duration or completely negate them.
  • Bubble Bottle: Potion that grants a large shield to the target that drains away over time.
  • Repulsor now shields allies instead of giving Def.
  • Vorpal Blade’s extra damage now ignores shields as well as def.
  • Wand of Lightning slightly nerfed, when casting against a single target it spends 1 additional activation’s worth of mana.

Enemies

  • 6 New Enemies!
  • Accursed’s Torment nerfed to  now only affects the closest enemy.
  • Spinecaller’s Eviscerate buffed, now lasts 6 seconds instead of 3.

Bugs

  • Fixed a bug where you could skip curse and blessing selection
  • Fixed Archtype replacements being lost when saving & reloading
  • Fixed the mana regen bonus from Distortion Storm’s “Wait it out” option from being lost when saving & reloading
  • Fixed Fortune Shrine being able to grant the Lucky synergy multiple times
  • Fixed Fortune Shrine not appearing in Zones 1 & 2.  It can appear anywhere now. 
  • Fixed some instances of ability damage reduction from affecting healing as well
  • Fixed inconsistent run lengths when starting a new run while a current save is active
  • Fixed Champion’s Laurel and Radiant Aurite from showing up twice in the same selection.  
  • Fixed Loop 2 bosses not giving the option to get aurite or eggs
  • Fixed an interaction with Retargeting effects that caused On Attack effects to still affect the original target.
  • Fixed enemies with Transcendent Bands filling the player’s super meter on death
  • Fixed a bug with some abilities that perform attacks while using items with On Attack effects.
