Temper your Expectations


This patch introduces a new feature to forges, Tempering.  While only 1 item is inserted in the forge, you can pay aura to increase the stats it has based on the type of item, as well as increasing its rarity by 1 level.  Both the cost and amount of stats increase the higher the rarity is until it reaches legendary (or is a merged item).  These items get a flat general boost, but the cost keeps increasing.

Additionally, there is a new experimental auto saving feature.  Your current run's progress will save after each encounter group you select on the map screen, for instance traveling to a Nest, or starting the first battle of a 3 battle group.  You should be able to close your game and resume back at that encounter now (although the specific encounter/shop/event will be regenerated).  This is a very new system so please report any bugs or feedback relating to it!  This should also allow compendium data such as items or enemies seen to carry over between updates now. 

General

  • Experimental Auto Saving, resume run from the start of the encounter group
  • Item Tempering: Forges can now upgrade the rarity & stats of an item
  • Compendium Stats Should now persist between game updates
  • Mabek Alt Appearance from Candy Contest
  • Map Window can be opened and closed at any time now
  • Stuns have innate diminishing effectiveness when used frequently on the same target.
  • New Event: Combat Training Grounds: Lets you change the attack of 1 monster or give a stat boost to all monsters.
  • Looping distribution of Eggs/Aurite spread out more. First Loop is normal, 2nd and 3rd have 1 less egg/aurite per zone, loops 3+ have none. Instead of the first 2 being normal then no longer receiving any.  This overall gives out more and means camps will appear for 1 more loop than before. 


Blessings & Curses

  • Regional Blessing Events can now all be selected once, and will all appear under the same blessing similar to how curses appear. (Rotting Forest, Poison Grove, Precarious Peak, Geyser Fields, Murky Pools, Foreboding Den)
  • Rotting Forest now applies to all enemies, including ones summoned during the fight.
  • Neverending Potion Blessing can no longer give duplicates and reduced frequency of Healing Salves
  • Frontline Offense Blessing buffed from +20 Str to +30
  • Commanding Presence Blessing buffed from 2sec stun to 4
  • The curses Regen, Poison, Mana now have an intermediate tier now.  Instead of 1 Target / All Targets they now go 1 Target / 2 Targets / All Targets.
  • The Mana curse now gives enemies +5 Mana regen for 10 seconds instead of immediately getting 50 mana. 
  • The Reduced Recovery between battles curses now start appearing 1 loop later as options (Loop 1+ for 75% HP / Loop 2+ 50% HP)
  • The Equipment curse now gives enemies items before battle. 
  • The Equipment curse can no longer give final bosses items.
  • Pact Dealer options scale with Loops at them time you select them and can each only be taken once now (for real this time)
  • Desolate Forge now gives items which allows you to choose which monster is affected. Each option can only affect a monster once.

Balancing

  • Reverted Swift Vengeance to its old form, causing Mabek to temporarily gain Str equal to damage taken. 
  • Giant’s Shortsword will now hit both enemies in the same row, regardless of whether the target is in the front or back. It will also fully work with Mudgill’s Thrash
  • Spyglass now Rare, int buffed from +10 to +30
  • Technical Super now uses Str or Int, whichever is higher for calculating damage now.

Fixes

  • Fixed Sealed Tomb occasionally offering options with no rewards
  • Fixed the monster stats window from not immediately updating when equipping new items
  • Fixed the Super Orb tooltip to update the charge level while hovering over it
  • Fixed Circlet of Acuity Merged with itself from casting infinitely.
  • Potential fix for monsters’ sprites rarely not changing when evolving 
  • ”Done Selecting” button on the team select screen now disappears in fullscreen
  • Fixed a minor visual bug with the default attack sprite sometimes getting cut short
  • Added new Item Name Merging Rules for Heart of the Ocean so it shouldnt produce nonsense now
